Since 1998, Susan Brown has been instrumental in the growth and evolution of Sensational Skin, helping establish the Scottsdale practice as a destination for advanced aesthetic technology, personalized treatment planning, and comprehensive skin health.

With nearly three decades of hands-on experience in aesthetic medicine, Susan combines extensive clinical knowledge, specialized training, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve healthier, more beautiful skin.

A graduate of Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Communications and Business, Susan brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, patient education, and business leadership to the practice.

As an Arizona-certified laser technician, Laser Safety Officer (LSO), and Lead Laser Technician, Susan personally performs a wide range of aesthetic treatments, including IPL photorejuvenation, laser hair removal, Smoothbeam acne laser treatments, CoolSculpting body contouring, CoolTone muscle stimulation, VelaShape cellulite reduction, and Profound RF treatments.

Working closely with S. Kent Brown, M.D., Susan also conducts comprehensive consultations and helps develop customized treatment plans that address each patient's individual concerns, aesthetic goals, and long-term skin health.

Susan's commitment to advanced skin health began with specialized training at the Obagi Skin Treatment, Correction & Restoration Symposium in Beverly Hills, California.

Her education focused on medical-grade skincare, skin correction, and restoration, including advanced Obagi Blue Peel techniques using trichloroacetic acid (TCA).

This training provided an important foundation for addressing challenging skin conditions, including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, severe acne, excessive oil production, uneven skin tone, and sun damage.

Over the years, Susan has continued her education through additional Obagi and ZO Skin Health symposiums, developing extensive experience in customized skin correction and maintenance protocols.

Her expertise includes Obagi Blue Peel, Controlled Depth Blue Peel, ZO 3-Step Peel, and lighter chemical peels and exfoliation treatments.

Susan pursued specialized training with Dr. Patrick Bitter Sr., a pioneer in intense pulsed light (IPL) photorejuvenation and its use in treating rosacea-related redness.

This advanced education expanded her understanding of light-based treatments for sun damage, pigmentation, visible blood vessels, facial redness, and overall skin rejuvenation.

A particular focus of her training was understanding the complexities of rosacea, including persistent facial flushing, visible redness, and the environmental and lifestyle triggers that can worsen symptoms.

Through this experience, Susan developed a deeper appreciation for optimizing IPL treatment protocols to address redness and pigmentation while helping patients better understand and manage their skin concerns.

Her goal is not simply to improve the appearance of the skin, but also to educate patients about maintaining their results and reducing factors that contribute to recurring redness.

Recognizing the physical and emotional impact that acne can have on patients of all ages, Susan pursued specialized Smoothbeam laser training at Dr. Ava Shamban's practice.

This education helped support the development and launch of Sensational Skin's dedicated acne treatment program.
